Identity theft is one of the fastest growing crime segments in the United Sates today. Approximately over 9 million people are victimized each year and that number will probably continue to rise. As more and more of our data is stored online, idenity theft becomes a biger and bigger problem.
Once you become a victim of identity thef, a lot of things can happen that you might never imagine. You may not be able get and use your credit cards, any loans, and you might even lose things such as your telephone service and television. It is even conceivable that you could end up in jail!
In order to protect yourself from identity theft, you have to make a proactive effort. If you wait until you have already been victimized it is too late and you will have much trouble ahead. While it is impossible to completely protect yourself from identity theft fraud, you must at least try to make yourself less vulnerable.
